Team Leader, People Development (HR, Organizational Health, Payroll & Staff Scheduling).

I have always had a passion and commitment to health and wellness. I have an Honours degree in Health Sciences and it was here where I developed a greater understanding and appreciation for the importance of balancing health and wellness —not only physically but emotionally and spiritually.  I have always taken pride in staying physically active whether it be going to  spin class or boxing boot-camp or going for a jog.  I have always found physical activity to be a great source to alleviate stress and to help with sustaining positive mental well-being. It is time to actually stop thinking about everything I have on my to-do list and even just for an hour to focus my energies on me.  Working in a fast paced environment and having a toddler where the days can sometimes feel like hours, as anyone working within the healthcare sector can appreciate, it is so crucial to take the time to de-stress and to do something positive for your mind, body and spirit.

The opportunity to develop and implement a wellness program at the Hospital in collaboration with Cindy has been rewarding. Being able to provide our employee’s with not only health and wellness resources but to be able to have a forum to actively promote positive working relationships and to advance a culture of health and well-being at the BCHS is exciting. To be able to identify potential ideas, strategies and programs for enhancing wellness and promoting a culture of wellness has been an uplifting experience and I am thrilled to be able to be a part of the beginning of a crucial program that we offer to our employees. I look forward  to working with the future Wellness Ambassadors and to implement new and exciting programs for all.
